Managing Your Personal Profile: Name, Photo, Password

In brief: Your profile holds your name, photo, and password; only you can change them, and the change follows you into every workspace.

Applies to: Everyone, whatever their role. No Owner or Admin can edit your name or photo for you.

Your personal profile holds the three things that belong to you rather than to a workspace: your name, your photo, and your password. You can change any of them yourself, any time, and the change follows you into every workspace you belong to. No workspace admin can rename you or swap your photo.

You'll find it under your name in the navigation → My Profile.

What's on your profile page

Two cards, and that's the whole page.

Profile information

  • Photo. Use Upload photo to choose an image file, or Remove photo to clear it. Net Net uses this photo everywhere, and workspace admins will see it in team settings.
  • First name and Last name. Both are required, and both are yours to set.
  • Email. Shown here so you can confirm which account you're in, but not editable on this page. It's the address you sign in with.

The Save button becomes available as soon as you change something.

Change password

Three fields: Current password, New password, and Confirm new password. The new password and the confirmation have to match, and you need your current password to make the change.

If you can't remember your current password, log out and use the Forgot password? link on the login screen instead. That path doesn't require the old one.

Your identity belongs to you

This is the rule underneath the whole page.

Net Net is built so one person can belong to more than one workspace. You might work in your own agency's workspace and in a partner's workspace with the same login, which is what Joining an Existing Workspace: Invites and Join Requests walks through. If a workspace admin could edit your name or your photo, every other workspace you belong to would inherit someone else's decision about who you are.

So the line is clean:

  • Your profile is where you manage who you are: name, photo, password.
  • Settings is where a workspace manages how you participate in it: your role, your capacity, your typical service types, whether you're active. What a role actually controls is covered in User Roles Explained: Owner, Admin, Lead, and Member.

Admins and Owners can see your name and photo in Team settings. They cannot change them.

If your name is spelled wrong in a workspace, you're the only one who can fix it. Asking an admin won't work, because the field is read-only for them by design.

What isn't here

A few things people look for on a profile page live somewhere else in Net Net:

Keeping the profile page small is deliberate. It holds only the things that travel with you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I find my profile?

Click your name and photo in the navigation, then choose My Profile. The page holds your name, your photo, and your password.

Can my workspace admin change my name or profile photo?

No. Your name and photo are yours alone and can only be changed by you on your profile page. Admins and Owners can see them in Team settings, but the fields are read-only for them. This is deliberate, because you might belong to more than one workspace and one workspace's admin should not be able to change who you are everywhere else.

Can I change my email address here?

Your email is displayed on the profile page but isn't editable there. It's the address you sign in with, so it's tied to your account rather than to any one workspace.

How do I change my password?

Use the Change password card on your profile page. Enter your current password, then your new password twice. If you don't remember the current one, log out and use the "Forgot password?" link on the login screen.

Does my photo show up in other workspaces?

Yes. Your photo and name are part of your account, so they appear anywhere you're a member. Change them once and every workspace you belong to sees the update.

Where do I set my capacity or my role?

Those aren't part of your profile. Monthly capacity, role, and typical service types are workspace settings, managed by an Owner or Admin under Settings → Team.
