# Clients Dashboard Preview: Which Clients Need You

||| **Coming at the end of August 2026.** Performance Dashboards are not in Net Net yet. This article previews how the Clients tab will work so you know what to expect when it arrives. Nothing described below is clickable in your workspace today.

**In brief:** Coming August 2026, the Clients tab will show only client relationships carrying an attention signal, each with a plain reason and one action.

**Applies to:** Owners and Admins, the only roles that see the Performance section.

**See also:** Today Dashboard Preview: What Needs a Decision Now is the same triage at Job level, and Jobs Report: Look Up Any Job's Plan vs Actual History is the client-filterable lookup available today.

**Clients will answer one question: which client relationships need attention before the work damages the relationship? It is a triage screen, not a client roster. Only clients with active client-facing work carrying an attention signal will show a card. Steady clients stay hidden behind a reassurance line. Each card names the client, says plainly why it is there, and offers exactly one action.**

This is the same triage logic as [Today](https://help.netnet.app/en-us/article/today-dashboard-preview-what-needs-a-decision-now-1mooqh8/), rotated ninety degrees. Today asks which Jobs need a decision. Clients asks which relationships are absorbing the cost of those Jobs. Both are previewed in [Performance Dashboards: Five Tabs Coming August 2026](https://help.netnet.app/en-us/article/performance-dashboards-five-tabs-coming-august-2026-1qrsbq9/).

# It will show you a short list, not everyone

Most client lists in software are complete, which makes them useless for triage: you scroll past nine healthy clients to find the one that matters.

Clients will invert that. A client appears only when they have active client-facing work and something on it has raised a signal:

- One of their Jobs is on Today
- Their retainer cycle is running hot
- Their client-facing Quick Tasks are piling up

Everyone else stays off the screen, summarized by a single line: "9 more clients with active work are steady. View all."

|| Steady means active work with no signals. It does not mean dormant. A client with nothing in flight is not on this screen at all, in either group, because there is no work to have an opinion about.

# What each card will say

Three things, and no more.

**Who.** The client name. In Net Net a client can be a Company, a Person, or a Person at a Company, as explained in [Companies, People, and Individuals: Contact Records](https://help.netnet.app/en-us/article/companies-people-and-individuals-contact-records-1piobx5/), and the card will use whichever anchor the Job is actually attached to.

**Why they are here.** One plain sentence. Not a score, not a badge, not a colored dot standing in for a sentence you have to decode.

**One action.** A **View Client Work** control that opens a client-level view of everything relevant for them. If a card happens to map to exactly one Job, that control becomes **Open Job** instead, so you land where the work actually is rather than on a list of one.

# Counts will never blend work types

This sounds like a small detail. It is not.

A client with three active Jobs and one client-facing Quick Task will read as "3 active Jobs, 1 Quick Task." It will never read as "4 active Jobs." Jobs and [Quick Tasks](https://help.netnet.app/en-us/article/quick-tasks-vs-job-tasks-vs-my-lists-which-to-use-1hlzaoy/) are different kinds of work with different planning, different effort models, and different consequences when they slip. Collapsing them into a single number would produce a figure that looks precise and means nothing.

| If a client keeps appearing because of Quick Tasks rather than Jobs, that is usually worth noticing on its own. A relationship running mostly on unplanned side requests is a different situation from one running on scoped Jobs, even when the hours look similar.

# What Clients will not do

No client health score. There will be no zero-to-one-hundred number, no letter grade, and no composite index summarizing a relationship. A score would hide the reason, and the reason is the useful part.

No money. Client value, spend, and profitability do not appear here, the same as everywhere else in Performance.

No blended effort percentage. Mixing a Project's effort against plan with a Retainer's cycle consumption produces a number that describes neither. Where a count is honest, Clients will show a count.

No trend arrows in the first version, for the same reason as the other tabs: direction over time needs a nightly health snapshot Net Net does not store yet.

# Frequently Asked Questions

###### Are Performance Dashboards available today?

**No. They are scheduled to arrive at the end of August 2026.** Until then, the closest read on a client is opening their Jobs individually and checking each one's [Performance tab](https://help.netnet.app/en-us/article/reading-the-job-performance-tab-plan-actual-drift-1hi6cta/), or filtering by client in [Jobs Report](https://help.netnet.app/en-us/article/jobs-report-look-up-any-jobs-plan-vs-actual-history-ip3kjc/).

###### Will Clients list every client I have?

**No, and that is the point.** It is a triage screen. Only clients with active client-facing work carrying an attention signal get a card. Everyone else is summarized in one reassurance line you can expand.

###### What puts a client on the attention list?

**One of their Jobs is on Today, their retainer cycle is running hot, or their client-facing Quick Tasks are piling up.** Any one of those is enough. A client with active work and none of those signals is counted as steady.

###### Will there be a client health score?

**No.** Net Net will show the plain reason a client needs attention rather than a number standing in for it. A score compresses away exactly the information you need to decide what to do.

###### Why are Jobs and Quick Tasks counted separately?

**Because they are genuinely different kinds of work.** A Job is scoped and planned; a Quick Task is not. Adding them together would produce a total that looks like a workload figure but does not behave like one.

###### Will Clients show what a client is worth or what we have billed them?

**No.** Performance speaks in effort and timeline only, and Clients is a Performance surface. Nothing about revenue, spend, or profitability appears on it.
